Privacy policy
How Kahaani Events processes personal data when you contact us or book an event.
Who is responsible
Kahaani Events is run by Zubairs Invest AS, organisation number 927 441 993, which is the controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at post@kahaani.no or +47 401 46 102.
What we process and why
When you send us an enquiry by email or call us, we receive the information you give us yourself, such as your name, phone number, email address, date, place, number of guests and what you write in your message. We use it to reply to you, prepare quotes, and plan and carry out the event.
The legal basis is that the processing is necessary to respond to your enquiry and to fulfil our agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR). What we must keep under the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act (bokføringsloven), we keep because the law requires it (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
You decide what you tell us, but without contact details we cannot reply to you. We do not use automated decision-making.
The website
The form on the website neither stores nor sends anything. It creates a pre-filled email in your own email app, and you decide whether to send it.
If you accept in the banner at the bottom of the page, we use Google Analytics for statistics: how many people visit the site, which pages are read, how visitors found us, what kind of device they use, and whether they click the phone number, the email address or the form button. Google Analytics then sets two cookies in your browser, _ga and _ga_XE1429KQGY. According to Google, they last for up to two years, and Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, and we never send your name, phone number or what you write in the form to Google. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 3-15 of the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act, ekomloven).
If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. If you withdraw your consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies. Your choice is only stored in your browser on this device (local storage) and is not sent to anyone. We ask again after 12 months.
Whatever you choose in the banner, Netlify, which hosts the website, measures how quickly the pages load and respond. When you leave a page or switch to another tab or app, your browser sends the measurements to Netlify, together with which page it was, your browser, operating system, screen size and whether you are using a mobile or a computer. Netlify also receives your IP address, as with every visit. The measurement uses no cookies, and we only see aggregated figures. We use them to find out whether the site is fast enough. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a website that works well (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Social media and advertising
If you contact us via Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or WhatsApp, we handle your message in the same way as an email. The platform you use also processes the information under its own terms.
If you fill in a contact form in an ad on Facebook or Instagram, your answers are first collected by Meta before we retrieve them. Meta gives us access to them for 90 days after submission. We use the information to reply to you and give you a quote, on the same basis as otherwise (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
We advertise on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and may show ads to people who have watched our videos or interacted with our profiles. The platforms handle the targeting, and we only receive statistics, not information about who you are. You can control this in the ad settings of each platform.
Who receives the information
The suppliers we use for your event, such as venues, caterers, musicians and decorators, only receive what they need to give a quote or deliver, such as the date, place and number of guests.
Our email is hosted by Microsoft (Microsoft 365), the website is hosted by Netlify, and if you have accepted statistics, Google processes the data from Google Analytics. They process data on our behalf. When you visit the website, Netlify receives technical information such as your IP address, because it is needed to show the page. Netlify also receives the speed measurements described under “The website”. Microsoft, Netlify and Google are US companies, and data may be transferred to the USA. The transfers are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which all three companies are certified.
How long we keep data
We delete enquiries that do not lead to a booking no later than 12 months after our last contact. We keep information about bookings for as long as we need it for the event. What forms part of our accounts, we keep for as long as the Bookkeeping Act requires.
In Google Analytics, statistics linked to an individual browser are deleted after 2 months. Aggregated figures, such as the number of visits per month, are kept.
Netlify only shows us the speed measurements for today and yesterday, and we do not store them ourselves.
Your rights
You can ask for access to the information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. You can also ask us to restrict the processing, and ask to receive the information you have given us. Send an email to post@kahaani.no.
You can object to the speed measurement, because it is based on our legitimate interest. Send an email to post@kahaani.no.
You can withdraw your consent to statistics at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. The withdrawal applies from that point on, not retroactively.
If you believe we are processing your data in breach of the rules, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.
